Dear Church Family,
What is your threshold for pain? Whether it’s physical, mental, emotional or spiritual, our friends in the Old Testament certainly put up with a lot. And for what? They all seemed to believe it was worth it to suffer for the glory of God. We won’t be talking about Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, but they had the best response when ‘ole King Nebuchadnezzar threatened to throw them in the fiery furnace:
“If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”
Those guys are my heroes. I have offered a warning about developing an active prayer life. The enemy will take notice. And if he takes notice, you can guarantee that trouble will come. So, just avoid it by not praying.
BUT….if you choose to grow in this area, this week’s message on Daniel will equip you to respond to God’ invitation to take the next step. As a preview, I will be telling you about God’s invitation to:
- Delve into the spiritual realms
- Develop an eternal perspective
- Learn a biblical worldview
- Discover your life purpose
- Develop a higher quality devotional life
- See results from your devotional life
Hope you will join us Sunday.
God Bless,
Allen
