Dear Church Family,
So much happens between now and Christmas. The elementary children are parading in front of the Manse as I write with their Halloween Costumes. Voting day is next week. Thanksgiving is around the corner, so I guess it’s time for retail establishments to start putting out the Christmas decorations.
Do we ever stop to think what all this is about? Are some things just fun and do others have significant meaning? What we do on Sundays and our view of Christmas is hopefully informed by Scripture. This Sunday the title of my sermon is “The Best Religion”. And I believe Christianity is best not just because I believe it, but it is good for all people at all times and and in all places.
I’m going to attempt to show you how the message of Jesus is both inclusive and exclusive. Sounds impossible since aren’t those two terms contradictory? We’ll see.
God Bless,
Allen
