Dear Church Family,

How do you balance grace and truth?  Whether it’s with your children, your spouse, your best friend or the driver who can’t seem to stay in between the lines?  Most of us err on one side or the other.
Our passage this week is Isaiah 1, the beginning of a series in Isaiah.  Through Isaiah, God is speaking to the people of Judah (2 tribes that have seceded from  the nation of Israel).  He blasts them with truthful accusations of their despicable behavior and yet he makes this lovely statement in verse 18 “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.

Our God is the perfect parent or friend who tells us the truth but with such grace and mercy that we know He loves us.  No other religion claims to have a God like this.  And these characteristics are not limited to Isaiah  but the Bible is riddled with them.  Ultimately, we see this grace and truth at the cross.  Sin is so horrible that it required the death of the Son of God but Grace is so wonderful that ti’s available for all who believe.

Be blessed and hope to see you Sunday.

In Christ’s Service,
Allen
