Is this Sermon for you?

What is your natural response to an emergency?  Some are energized and are ready to fight.  Others, say, “The heck with that, I’m outa here”.  And then there are those of us who can’t do anything and become immobilized.

In the passage for this week Isaiah 2, the prophet addresses his people in the midst of a dire situation.  A powerful nation is about to overrun them.  The wrong response is self-dependence, dependence on others, dependence on rocks and trees(I’ll explain Sunday).  Right response would be to turn to God.

And yet…they, and we, fail to do this.

This sermon is for you if you are dissatisfied with what the world, social media’s influence, politics, and all the talking heads are telling you.  Isaiah, written 700 years before Christ, has answers for us today.  Hope to see you Sunday.
