Dear Church Family,
The amazing thing about being 63, a pastor, a father and now grandfather is the regular occurrences of life and death. Babies are born and others leave this earth. I just received news of another high school classmate departing. And I just came from visiting Kevin and Deb, our friends from the John Zay house, She is now bedridden and facing her final days.
It certainly provides a sense of urgency that may have not been there several years ago. We have a message that needs to get out. A message of hope, of purpose, meaning and of course, information about what’s waiting for us on the other side.
Every Sunday, regardless of the topic ,the message of the gospel comes through any passage of the Bible from which I am preaching. This week my focus is on Nehemiah. He provides a great example of praying at every turn. Quick, emergency prayers and long, remember this about God, prayers. I will attempt to cover the whole book of Nehemiah but my emphasis will be on his relationship with God and his prayer life.
Spoiler alert! I detected something fishy toward the end ot the book. I’m still wrestling with it and will reveal it on Sunday.
God Bless,
Allen
