Dear Church Family,
The title for my message on Sunday is “The Diagnosis is Terminal.” Not very “Christmasy” is it? Or is it? From where do you get your understanding of Christmas? Store fronts, social media, tradition? The Scripture passage in Ephesians 2 reminds us that we desperately need a Savior and that God, in His grace, has provided us with One.
So, Christmas exists because we have a death sentence on us. It exists to remind us that God invaded and continues to invade this earth to broadcast His love to a dying world.
I love the traditions of Christmas. Yes, there have been some hard holidays in the past and this one, for our family, is particularly difficult. But I am striving for the true meaning of the joy of Christmas. I want to experience His grace and provision in a way that was impossible for me before. So, I watch and wait.
God Bless,
Allen
