Dear Church Family,
Well, I thought I could get it done in two weeks but the meaning behind our worship service is deep and profound and I do not want to take any shortcuts. This week we will examine from the “Invocation” to the “Prayers of the People”.
Our Scriptures are : Psalm 27:1-5 and Matthew 19:13-14
I have greatly enjoyed researching and talking to some of you about the meaning behind each of these elements in our service. I think this is going to result in a booklet that we’ll offer as an introduction to 1st Presbyterian Church, the Reformed Faith and our denomination, ECO.
I don’t know what each of you is experiencing today but I want to offer you the challenge that was given me a few years ago. On a retreat we had just read one of the Psalms where David is fleeing from Saul. The speaker sent us out of the room with a question: “What is this that you have given me?” So, in God’s sovereignty whether you are having a great day or one filled with challenges, ask that question, knowing that our God is good and when we view our circumstances with gratitude, life can take on a transforming perspective.
God Bless,
Allen
